Check availabilityIt is a guide inside the museums, not outside the walls. The courtyards are free and every walking tour in Milan passes through them. The museums need the castle's €10 ticket, and only a handful of tours carry it. These do, and they spend their time where the ticket takes you.
Ninety minutes is the usual length. It covers Michelangelo's Pietà Rondanini, the ducal rooms of the Corte Ducale and the story of the Visconti and the Sforza. One of these also puts you inside the Duomo and onto its terraces first.
You do not queue at the desk or work out which ticket covers what. The fare buys the castle's own museum ticket, and it stays valid for the rest of the day.
An unfinished statue is easy to walk past. A guide shows you the arm from an earlier version, the changed proportions, and why Michelangelo kept carving it until days before he died.
The Ducal Chapel of 1473, the Sala delle Colombine, the Portico of the Elephant: each is a line in the Sforza story, and you get the story rather than a plaque.

You get the museum ticket, a guide and, on the shared tours, headphones once the group grows. You get the Pietà Rondanini, which is on every castle museum ticket.
What you do not get is Leonardo's Sala delle Asse, which is closed for restoration whoever you book with. You do not get the battlement walk either; that is a separate €10 ticket at the Info Point. And none of these includes the Last Supper, which the Last Supper tours cover.
Book any day from Tuesday to Sunday. The museums close on Mondays, so no guided museum tour runs that day. Pick a morning slot if you want to stay on afterwards, because last entry to every section is 4.30pm.
Check your meeting point. Most castle tours meet under the Filarete Tower on Piazza Castello, but one sets its meeting point by the option you book, and the Duomo combination starts in Piazza del Duomo.
