Make the most of your visit
Arrive at opening (10:00 am) or after 3:00 pm to avoid the busiest periods. Tuesday afternoons offer free museum entry with lighter crowds.
Popular guided tours sell out days ahead in peak season. Book online at least 3–5 days early (April–October) to secure your preferred time slot.
Michelangelo's final work deserves at least 20 minutes on its own. Visit the Pietà Rondanini room early — it draws crowds by midday.
The castle's rear gate opens directly into Parco Sempione — 47 hectares of parkland perfect for a picnic or a quiet walk after the museums.

Lines 43, 57, 61, 70 serve the Piazza Castello area. Check ATM Milan for current routes.
Parcheggio Castello (Piazza Luigi Einaudi) is the nearest public car park — 5 min walk. Milan's ZTL restricted zone applies.
